Covid-19: Preparing for your holiday
The past year has been tough for most of us due to the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning that we all need a holiday more than ever! We know how precious time away is, so we want to make your holiday experience as smooth as possible.
Below are some things to consider before and during your holiday.
Before your holiday
We are keeping a close eye on developments to ensure that we are operating within the government guidelines.
Please only travel if it is safe for your party to do so. If you or any of your party develop or have any symptoms of Covid-19 within 14 days of your holiday or receive a track and trace alert you must inform us straight away. In this case, you will need to contact your travel insurance regarding cancellation guidelines.
Check list
As well as all the usual essentials, we would recommend that you consider bringing the following:
- Face masks
- Disposable gloves
- Hand sanitiser
- Disinfectant wipes
- Groceries: There are shops and supermarkets nearby, but you may prefer to bring food with you as shopping may take longer than usual due to restrictions.
To make the most of your holiday and sample local produce, order a food hamper to be placed in your cottage on arrival: https://www.carswellholidays.com/food/food-hampers/
Nearby Ben’s Farm Shop also offers a click and collect service. Find out more here: https://bensfarmshop.co.uk/ordercollect/yealmpton/ - If you are planning on visiting local attractions while staying at Carswell Farm, you may need to book tickets in advance.
Access to the cottage
You will be sent directions and arrival instructions prior to your stay. Check-in is contact-free, your key will be left in a key safe at your cottage.
Arrival is any time after 4pm. Please do not arrive early as the changeover period is used to undertake additional cleaning and to minimise contact between guests and our staff.
While you are away
If any of your party becomes ill, displays any Covid-19 symptoms or receives a track and trace alert while you are at the property, you should call us straight away.
Games, books and DVDs can be found in the cottages – we recommend that you sanitise thees before and after use.
Please ensure that all rubbish and waste is disposed of properly in secured bags and left in the location advised in your cottage.
Guests are not permitted to invite anyone to the cottage who is not in your party – this is an additional precaution as a result of Covid-19.
On the day of departure
Please ensure that the property is left in the same condition that you found it. Please remove all food from the cupboards and fridge – nothing should be left behind in order to avoid contamination.
All linens (except bunk bed fitted sheets), towels, tea towels should be placed in laundry bags provided.
After your stay
Lastly, as a precaution, should you feel unwell or receive a track and trace alert within 14 days of your stay, please inform us as a matter of urgency so that we can put measures in place to keep our staff and other guests safe.
