A Georgian ‘gentleman’s residence’ once owned by Edward Baring of banking renown, this beautiful house has been refurbished in a way that retains every bit of style and grandeur whilst leaving no doubt about its friendly atmosphere.

The house is large and spacious, with elegant living areas offering plenty of spaces to relax – ideal accommodation for a large group, family celebration, a hen party or even a small wedding reception. Lambside House also boasts a beautiful garden with a new wood-fired hot tub, the perfect spot for a few sundowners after a day spent exploring the local area.

The house forms the cornerstone of a large farmyard with disused stone barns on all the other sides, completely surrounded by peaceful pastureland.

The Property:
Through the columns of the entrance, a wide hall with flagstone floor has an elegant living room on either side, both of which open out, with the use of large double doors, to create a stylish expanse that would suit any party or special occasion at any time of year.

The enormous kitchen/dining room is the perfect place to gather. It is fully equipped with every conceivable requirement, including a breadmaker and it has an Aga to complete the picture, plus an electric oven and hob.

The ground floor also has a sunny playroom with a daybed, a pull out bed underneath, games and toys including table football, as well as a piano! There is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, sink and downstairs toilet.

Upstairs there are five bedrooms: one huge king sized room with a massive en suite bathroom (with his and hers sinks!); one further superking sized (which can be converted into twin beds if requested); a twin room, an en suite superking sized room (which can be converted into twin beds if requested) and another room with a single bed and full size bunk beds. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and shower over.

The house currently sleeps 11, but is due to be refurbished in winter 2022/2023 and will reopen sleeping 10 in five bedrooms with additional bathrooms. Please contact us for more information.

Outside, a large lawn to the front of the house has a wood-fired hot tub, a fire pit and garden furniture, all just minutes from the coastal path and beyond.

Amenities:
As well as a woodburner in one of the lounges, Lambside House is centrally heated and has all the standard facilities that we offer. There is superfast fibre broadband provided free of charge.
Hotel quality white bed linen and big fluffy towels are all provided, as well as tea-towels, bath mats and environmentally friendly cleaning materials. We put delicious local organic milk in the fridge for your arrival – with our compliments, along with enough recycled paper toilet rolls, Fair Trade tea, coffee, sugar and local organic herbal tea to get you started!
